At 7:11 p.m., Sweet-D and I will officially be married for SEVEN YEARS!!! It's seriously hard to believe! Time has flown by!
Sweet-D did something really special this year. He recorded our song "Cloud Nine" by himself. He recorded all the parts himself with a Rock Band mic and mixed it on his computer. The guitar parts were easy since he plays guitar, but he had to record the bass and drums with my keyboard! It took him seven hours and who knows many takes, but he did it! He even sang it!
Many of you will probably not know what this song is, so let me fill you in. This song is an original from the band Distorted Penguins, who are no longer together. DP is a band from my hometown and actually included many of my dear childhood friends. It was originally sung (and written) by the amazingly talented Dave Mussen, who I am honored to have called a friend. Dave's life was cut short in the spring of 2000.
When Sweet-D first heard this song, it was after Dave's death. As soon as Sweet-D heard me talk about Dave and how truly inspiring of a person he was, there was no denying he would too adopt this song as a the soundtrack for our life together. To this day, it is still my favorite song of all time. And now, it means even more.
Happy Anniversary, Sweet-D! SEVEN YEARS!!! Wow. Let's go for seven more! :)
