Welcome to WTF Friday!

Do you smell that? Sniff. Sniff. It smells like the weekend! That can only mean one thing... WTF Friday! That's right, it's time for the the post series designed to help you start your weekend on the lighter side of life. WTF Friday was started last year after falling in love with a newspaper section in an Australian newspaper. The section was called Weird, True, Freaky, and the stories usually left you saying "WTF Mate?"

A lot of thought and research go into the WTF Friday posts. Sometimes I have to really search for something that makes us here at the Unscripted house burst into laughter. Other times, the news anchors of the world do the work for me.

It's really hard to follow that up with anything. Have a GREAT weekend and remember to live on the lighter side of life this weekend!

Welcome to WTF Friday!

It's that time of year again... marching season. It marks the end of summer for high school students around the country, as well as, their instructors and band director. For those of you who don't know me in real life or haven't been around Unscripted Life long enough to feel like you know me, I spend my summer vacation on the marching band field as a color guard instructor.

The marching band season begins with summer band. If you were never a member of the marching band, it's hard to fully explain the experience. It's a lot of work, usually done in the hot, hot sun. As hard and sometimes miserable as it seems, I don't know a single band member who didn't enjoy every hot, sweaty, sleepless night.

Next week I hope to bring you a little taste of band camp. I don't know if I'll have enough Internet access to post here on UnscriptedLife, so follow my twitter feed for the full experience. In honor of WTF Friday, I just had to bring you some marching band humor.

I want to start with a video that teaches a good lesson: Never mess with the marching band:

No two marching bands are alike, but there is one common thread that binds us all together: we never miss an opportunity to have fun!

See ya next week!
